Congratulations to Jennifer Posey Stockton our May 2026 EconHero!

Jennifer teaches IB economics at Westlake Academy in Westlake, Texas. Her nominator described her as the “type of economics teacher we all wish we had” and reports Jennifer’s classes have driven record student engagement.

“Earlier this year, she coordinated a field trip to get to see economics in action at a university and has done a lesson on the human impact of economics where students worked through drinking water issues that many countries face. She is an incredible educator, mentor, and supporter for all teachers,” Jennifer’s nominator wrote.

Not only is Jennifer showing up passionately for her students but she is supporting and mentoring her colleagues around her and growing the buzz around econ!

Jennifer said she loved teaching econ because “Students get to debate, challenge each other, and actually think instead of just memorize. And those moments when it clicks for them and they start using economic thinking on their own? That’s still my favorite part.”
