About the Award

Economic educators across the country are working hard everyday to teach their students key concepts and skills that will improve their decision making. As economic thinkers, students can reap gains in their personal, professional, and civic lives.

We want to celebrate EconHeroes—Grade 6-12 classroom educators who are empowering their students to think like economists. From September to May each year, we will feature one EconHero on our website. Each EconHero will receive a congratulatory certificate, a $100 Amazon gift card, and a special gift for their classroom, as a small token of our appreciation for their hard work and commitment to economic education.

What Makes an EconHero?

EconHeroes are new or experienced teachers who demonstrate a passion for economic education by doing one or more of the following:

• participating in discipline-specific professional development programs

• mentoring fellow economic educators

• developing and/or implementing innovative instructional materials

• supporting relevant extracurricular activities

• sharing strategies, resources, or classroom successes via social media or other means

Who can Nominate an EconHero?

Anyone! An educator can nominate themself or a colleague. Students, administrators, and family members are also welcome to nominate an EconHero.
