October 2026 EconHero

Congratulations to Alundra Dickson, our October 2026 EconHero!

Alundra teaches AP Psychology, Psychology, and Sociology at Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. While Alundra isn't teaching a course called economics this year, she knows that economic concepts are embedded in other social science courses.

As a Master Economics Teacher with Economics Arkansas, Alundra leads professional learning sessions and acts as a resource extender for educators across her state. She also designs innovative lessons that bring economics and popular culture together to maximize student engagement.

Alundra told us, "I love teaching economics and embedding it into my other courses because it's relevance to every aspect of life. When students hear the word 'economics' or 'economy' they often get nervous and immediately assume the topics are overly complicated or do not apply to them or their future plans. Demystifying it for students and opening their eyes to its applicability is so rewarding for me. When they see it's just the science of decision-making in different areas they completely buy in."

We are thrilled to shine a light on Alundra's dedication and excellence during Economic Education Month!
