An Introduction to Fiscal Policy

Overview

Students play a board game to learn the basics of fiscal policy. Following the game, they are guided through a debrief to solidify their understanding and apply what they have learned. The lesson concludes with a retrieval quiz to strengthen understanding of both monetary and fiscal policy. Note: The activator assumes students are familiar with the basic circular flow model from Lesson 3.1. This lesson uses "tidy" assumptions — the complications of fiscal policy are explored in Lessons 3.15 and 3.16.

What Educators Are Saying

I thought this was a great way to cover fiscal policy that usually doesn't take very long. This was a way to make it more engaging.
